about

Renegade English soul-rockers The Heavy are pleased to announce the release of their new single, “Curse Me Good.” Featured on the band’s acclaimed new full-length album, The Glorious Dead (Counter Records), the laid-back, toe-tapping “Curse Me Good” follows the album’s first single, “What Makes A Good Man?” – a blaring soul stomper that was recently performed on numerous American late-night television shows including The Late Show With David Letterman, The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson and Last Call With Carson Daly.

The Heavy recently completed a full-scale, month-long North American run showcasing The Glorious Dead as well as the rest of its celebrated catalog. The band will be performing a number of European dates beginning on October 31 in London, UK, and will make appearances throughout the region in cities such as Manchester, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Zürich and Milan.

Out now, The Glorious Dead is the band's third LP and the follow-up to their acclaimed sophomore record The House That Dirt Built (2009), an album that featured the smash hit "How You Like Me Now?" – a track that has clocked up over 500K downloads to date and has been featured in countless advertisements. Self-produced and with their unique, raw eclecticism fully intact, The Glorious Dead is their most fully-realized record yet, mixing together soul, hip-hop, rock, blues and funk into glorious, raucous party music that is equally full of heart. From the horror film atmospherics of "Can't Play Dead" to the funked-up hip hop rhythm of "Big Bad Wolf" and the epic, heavy-hitting gospel rock 'n' roll of "Same 'Ol," The Glorious Dead illustrates this skilled ensemble’s musical range that’s packed with yearning and pure soul.
